Sketchbook
Sketchbook is not a lesson for students but rather a practice that I recommend you have in your classroom. It is great for early finishers, a fantastic way for students to self-express, a low-pressure way for students to practice skills and so much more! Click on the workbook to get a deeper explanation of what a sketchbook looks like in my classroom as well as monthly prompts for your students.
Time Estimate: On-going throughout the school year
Time Estimate: Nine 45 minute classes
EXTRA PRACTICE PROJECTS OR WARM-UPS:
Draw someone across the room from you, or have a model (teacher) in the middle that everyone draws and rotates around. Do 1 min contour line, continuous line, blind contour line, and gesture drawings. Have students stand up and find someone new.
Students make their own gesture slideshow. Start class off by doing 10 minutes of gesture sketches.
